3.5L Ti-VCT V6 Engine
The 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 in the Flex delivers 287 horsepower* and 254 lb.-ft. of torque to help with many towing applications. It has an EPA-estimated rating of 18 city/25 hwy/20 combined mpg, FWD. Actual mileage will vary. It is mated to the six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission that lets you choose between a fully automatic operation or the control of a manual transmission without a clutch.
AdvanceTrac® with RSC®
AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) uses gyroscopic sensors to measure both vehicle roll and turning rates. Corner too quickly or swerve to avoid an object and RSC applies brake pressure and reduces engine power to help keep your vehicle under control.* And it all happens in the time it takes to blink an eye. Available trailer sway control works with RSC to determine if the trailer is swaying. If necessary, trailer sway control applies precise braking or adjusted engine torque to help bring both vehicle and trailer under control. Trailer sway control is included in the Class III Trailer Tow Package for SEL and Limited models.
MyKey®
MyKey® technology, standard in every Flex, lets you program individual keys so that two members of a household can share a car, yet have personalized settings take effect when they use their unique keys. It lets you designate a key to operate special features, such as restricting the vehicle’s top speed to 65, 70, 75 or 80 mph and limiting the entertainment system’s audio to 44 percent of maximum volume. It also provides a warning when the fuel tank reaches 75 miles to empty, allows the owner to select speed alert chimes at 45, 55 or 65 mph, and sets the Belt-Minder® to chime, while muting the audio system, until the safety belt is buckled.
Reverse Sensing System
The Reverse Sensing System, standard on all models, emits a series of beeps when you’re nearing certain objects behind the vehicle. The closer you get to the object, the quicker the beeps.
What is a package?

A group of options, usually related in function (i.e. a group of exterior trim items, is often offered as a "package," saving you money compared with buying each item individually. An "Equipment Group" vehicle is like an option package on a larger scale. An equipment group is based on the most popular combination of features for a particular model. The number of buildable combinations is significantly reduced, and so is the cost - another way to save you money.

The way the exterior of your vehicle is trimmed is an expression of your taste and your lifestyle. This has to do with color, décor themes - with everything. Imagine yourself in a vehicle driving alongside yours. What would you think? Would you like it? Would you change anything? Now's the time.

Power and Handling

Your choice of drive mode, engine and suspension depends so much on how you use your vehicle and how you drive, that you are the only one who can really choose them. But the choices are getting easier. Ford engines, for example, continue to narrow the gap between power and fuel efficiency. Technology has done some of the thinking for you.
